As much as we hate to acknowledge it, summer is coming to a close and school will be back in session in the next few weeks. With a new school year and new season comes a new slate, new goals, attitudes, clothes, shoes, classes, teachers, friends, and so on. There is a lot of change, and change can be scary. But sometimes, it can be really fun, too. Itchin’ to try out a new makeup routine? Haircut or style? Now’s the time!

MAKEUP

When it comes to new makeup looks and routines, you have the freedom and versatility to go as heavy and bold or as subtle and simple as you would like.  When thinking of what you’re going to do for the first day, it may be helpful to keep the popular upcoming fall favorites. Moody tones, lilac color, bold lips – all the drama!

It’s time to move away from the dewy, glossy, natural look of summer and come in hot with those deep, romantic tones. Don’t be afraid to do a smokey eye with a wing eyeliner moment – now is your time to shine. Out with the gloss; in with the boss: this fall it’s all about cool tones, particularly in blue and purple. So, channel your inner Sully and make a makeup masterpiece for your first impression this year.

HAIR

Have ya been itching for a new haircut? Bangs? Chop it all off? See for yourself if blondes really do have more fun? No time like the present! When you start that new class in a few weeks no one will know you haven’t rocked a bob with bangs since adolescence. Let’s dive into what seems to be the go-to for this fall in terms of color. Strawberry blonde, chocolate brown, and chunky CHUNKY highlights are the favorites for the 2024 school year.

Now maybe a complete head dye situation isn’t your vision for this year. A whole new color is pricey, bold, and a long-term commitment if you plan to keep up with it. While still a drastic change, maybe it is a new cut that is in the cards! Long bobs, usually ending around the chin or an inch or two lower. Blunt cuts, at every hair length you can achieve a blunt cut across. This one is for y’all who want to follow the trends but might have a tad bit of a problem with commitment. They are easy to achieve and easy to undo with a small amount of hair loss in the process. Finally, the shag cut that came back in 2023 is still in style. Are you chopping, coloring, or rocking the same mane?

As summer comes to a close and we prepare for the new school year, we can look forward to the opportunity for new goals and (almost) more importantly new looks! Embrace the opportunity of a fresh start and take advantage of the blank slate. Rock that pixie cut, dye that mane dark brown, smoke out that eyeshadow, and darken up the bronzer. Wherever the wind takes ya, embrace it – just make sure it’s YOU that shines through.
