We want you to have a realistic expectation of what training for a new career could be like. That’s why we encourage all prospective students to make an appointment with an admissions representative.

Your admissions appointment is an opportunity to tour the school, meet some instructors, and get a feel for life at DuVall’s School of Cosmetology. You can also have an opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with an admissions representative, who will review your program options and learn more about your long-term goals.

At the end of the visit, you can receive a complimentary facial or shampoo/style service to experience our student salon for yourself!

What to Know Before You Enroll

We’re excited to help you start this journey! Before starting enrollment, you must meet the minimum requirements and gather the necessary documentation. Here is what you’ll need:

Age Requirement

You must be at least 16 years old for the Cosmetology or Esthetics program. You will need to provide proof of your age.

Education Requirements

Provide proof of one of the following:

High school diploma or transcript showing graduation
GED or other state-approved equivalency test results
Home school documentation showing compliance with state requirements
Completion of at least a two-year program that is acceptable for full credit toward a Bachelor’s degree
Foreign high school diploma must be translated and evaluated by a recognized agency

Proof of Identity

A valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
Social Security Card (name must match the ID)
Other documents accepted as specified on Form I-9 from the Department of Homeland Security

Transfer Students

Previous training hours registered with TDLR must be evaluated before enrollment
Credit for prior cosmetology or esthetics education will only be granted before enrollment

Did you know our cosmetology and esthetics programs are available as part-time or full-time schedules? We know that many of our students need to fit their beauty education around other commitments such as work, family, and personal responsibilities. Our programs are designed to help you find a balance between maintaining your current commitments while also working toward your future goals.

Is financial aid available for your beauty school programs?

Yes! Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Our financial aid department can help you explore all the options available to make your beauty school training more affordable. With scholarships, grants, loans, and payment plans available, there are many ways you can bring down the cost of your training and achieve your long-term education goals. Talk to our team to learn more.

What happens after I apply?

Once you submit your application and paperwork, our admissions team will review everything and contact you to discuss the next steps. This could include scheduling your admissions appointment, reviewing your financial aid options, or finalizing your enrollment agreement. If you have previous training hours you want to transfer, we’ll also evaluate them at this stage. Our team is also available to answer your questions, so feel free to contact us any time.

Application & Enrollment Process

Ready to apply? Follow these steps:

Make an admissions appointment
Complete an application for enrollment
Submit admissions paperwork, including:
- Interview sheet and enrollment application
- Application to register with the state regulatory agency ($25 TDLR fee)
- Signed acknowledgment of school policies, handbook, and financial expectations
- Enrollment Agreement and payment of $50 non-refundable application fee

Applicants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign their application.
